Big Names, Real Connections: Veragua’s Collaborations with 4 Amazing Artists

At Veragua, our jewelry isn’t just about design—it’s about telling stories and connecting people. Over the years, Felipe has made it happen. He's conscious about his luck to have collaborated with some incredibly talented artists who inspire us and make us proud to be part of their journey. Not many brands can say they’ve worked with names like these, and it’s something we don’t take for granted. Let’s dive into the stories of these four artists, the Veragua pieces they’ve made their own, and how these collaborations remind us to keep pushing forward.

Willy Rodríguez: Creativity and Connection

Willy Rodríguez isn’t just the lead singer of Cultura Profética—he’s someone whose music carries deep messages of love, resilience, and staying real. It’s no surprise that he’s someone who values authenticity, whether in his work or the people he surrounds himself with.

Willy first discovered Veragua last year, thanks to a friend of his, who brought him to our shop. I remember the moment—I wasn’t sure it was really the Willy until I asked at the end of the visit. Since then, Willy’s been back a few times in a more relaxed setting, hanging out, sharing drinks, and talking about creativity, getting stuck, and finding inspiration. He’s as humble and grounded as they come, which makes every visit a pleasure.

His Veragua favorites include the Nariguera ring and Capitán ring, the Aldaba Doble bracelet, and a new Cuban bracelet we haven't released yet. He also switches between the Rose and Machete necklaces, hanging them from one of his signature hoops. Yesterday, we dropped our first official collab with Willy, and trust us, you don’t want to miss it. Head over to Instagram to check it out—it’s something we’re really proud of.

René Pérez: Work, Revolution, and Keeping It Real

Residente is a one-of-a-kind artist. His music has always been bold, socially conscious, and unapologetically real. Collaborating with him was a huge milestone for Veragua. We've kept the back story of this collab a bit under the radar so, for now that's all we're saying (We will talk more about it on upcoming blogs).

Jessica Goicoechea: Effortless Style

We’ve talked about Jessica before in another blog, so if you haven’t read it yet, we definitely recommend giving it a look for a deeper dive into her story.

Jessica is a model and entrepreneur who’s built her career through a mix of hard work, creativity, and a clear sense of who she is. That confidence and edge make her the perfect fit for Veragua. Our connection with Jessica came through her manager, Sandra, who’s been a friend of Felipe for a while now. Sandra introduced Jessica to our pieces, and everything just clicked. Felipe met Jessica in Barcelona to have her personally pick her favorites.

Her Veragua collection include the Nariguera, Gold Flake II, Aldaba Octava, and Aldaba Novena rings. She often stacks the Octava and Novena for a layered look that's very much her style—bold, effortless, and unique.

Chet Faker: Music, Meaning, and a Butterfly Necklace

Nick Murphy, also known as Chet Faker, is a musician who stands out for his soulful sound and unique ability to mix genres. Meeting him wasn’t random—Felipe’s cousin Fabio, the owner of House of Somos, the sweetest hotel in Santa Teresa, gave us the heads-up that Chet was playing a one-night show. Felipe decided to go and introduce Veragua.

While they were talking, Chet shared a story about his first coffee in Costa Rica, when a butterfly landed on his coffee mug. That moment stuck with him, and when he saw our Traditional Butterfly necklace, he knew it was the perfect piece. His Veragua collection also includes the Excalibur and Betty necklaces, which he layers on the same chain. The way he styles them is simple yet personal, reflecting his thoughtful, laid-back vibe.

Why These Collaborations Matter

Each of these artists brings something unique—whether it’s their perspective, their craft, or their way of staying true to themselves. Collaborating with them isn’t just an honor; it’s proof that we’re on the right track. It reminds us why we love what we do and why we’re so proud to bring Costa Rican craftsmanship to the world.

To everyone who supports us—artists, customers, and friends—thank you. You’re the reason we keep going. Summer’s just around the corner, and though the rain’s been non stop, we know the sun will bring with it our newest collection. Stay tuned—it’ll be worth the wait.
